Dungeon Builder: Handpainted tiles to build maps

March 15, 2021 at 3:54 pm (Art, Board games, Digital Art, Dungeons and Dragons, Games, painting, Watercolours) (, , , , , , , )

Recently I bought a Humble Bundle that included a “dungeon builder” type of pack. It turned out that this was simply a set of images that a person would use to compose their own dungeons using an image editor such as photoshop. Well, I decided to start working on making my own! My differentiator? I wanted to create them all using watercolour paintings to give the maps a more stylish flair. I think these will end up really nice, but I thought I’d post some images of what I have so far. They’re all work in progress and I am still building more of them, but these are tiles for a basic stone dungeon pack.

At some point, I may toss them on my Etsy shop at jestermaxart.etsy.com if I get enough created and find that there is enough interest for such a pack.

New Online Storefront for Art Prints

September 23, 2020 at 8:08 pm (acrylic painting, Art, Colored Pencils, Digital Art, Markers, painting, Sketches) (, , , , , )

Today marks the opening of my new Etsy storefront for selling prints of my work! I had posted some fan art online and had more than a few requests for prints and t-shirts, so I decided to look into it. It turns out it wasn’t too difficult at all to set up a dropship vendor to do on-demand prints. The URL to my Etsy store is: https://www.etsy.com/shop/jestermaxart/

I’ll be posting new prints on and off long term, but I have a handful of initial offerings to get started with. I’m also still working on getting samples from the vendors so I can ensure I have a good product (and also that all of the plumbing is correctly set up for the supply chain itself…). However, I have also made my first sale! Very exciting.

Marketing the brand has been fairly difficult so far, as I had to learn what “Instagram” was; a sign that I’m no longer “with it” I suppose. In case of any interest, my new Instagram account is @JestermaxArt. I will be attempting to post new art content semi-regularly as time permits.

MS Paint Pixel Art: City of R’lyeh

August 28, 2018 at 9:40 am (Art, Digital Art, MS Paint) (, , , )

I recorded myself using MS Paint to create a 76 pixel by 93 pixel image using a reference picture I found on Google Images. I tried to do it as quickly as possible (took roughly ~30 minutes) and I created a sped-up version of the video that’s 8 minutes long. Here’s an image to show my progress throughout the video as well as a link to the video itself:
